Who am I?, What am I about?, And why am I here? All great questions, with an even greater backstory.

Let me introduce myself, my name is Melissa and at the very young age of 53, I am a mother to 6 girls, 4 of which I gave birth to, and I inherited 2 more when I married my Australian husband. I also have been blessed with 5 wonderful Grandchildren.

I am originally from Illinois but now reside in a small sleepy little town in Tennessee via a brief but wonderful 5 year visit to Australia….Hey, I did say that this blog is going to have some great backstories.

So why am I here, what am I about?

I’m about Family, I’m definitely about Food and the way that food brings people together, whether it be Family, friends or even cultures.  We’re a family that spends more time in our kitchen, than we do in our lounge room in front of the television.

Food is our passion, and we love both creating and recreating wonderful dishes we’ve tasted from all over the world….only now….its with a twist….Keeping it Keto.

Yes, there’s that trendy new word again….Keto! 

So why keto?

After years of being plagued with various health issues ranging from anxiety, painful plantar fasciitis to severe high blood pressure and to top it all off, I was overweight. Something needed to change.

Yep, I was a walking mess physically, but on a personal level, I was the happiest I’ve ever been.

At the age of 40, I married the love of my life, on the other side of the world.

And at the age of 42, God blessed us with our little Aus-Merican daughter, Faith Rose.

Faith, now 10 years old, is a girl, full of energy, that lights up our life, and has inherited our love for cooking and creating.  As any parent does, we want the best for our children, and feel its our duty to raise her with the knowledge of smart food choices.

And this is how “Cooking Keto With Faith” came about.
